About the Fair Deal Scheme (NHSS)

The Nursing Homes Support Scheme (Fair Deal) provides financial support towards the cost of nursing home care. Under the scheme, residents contribute according to their means, and the State pays the balance. The weekly rate shown is the maximum amount the HSE has approved for this facility under the 2026 Cost of Care schedule. Your actual contribution depends on a financial assessment of income and assets. Contact the HSE or your local Citizens Information office for guidance on applying.
